Here, dspGuru catalogs DSP-related software of all kinds, including code, tools, and applications.
Digital Signal Processing software falls into three broad categories: code, tools, and applications. By "code" we mean "software you use as part of a DSP system". By "tools" we mean "software you use to develop a DSP system. By "applications", we mean "software you use by itself, without a DSP system".
Software has another dimension: its open/free status. OpenDSP (sm) is dspGuru's initiative to catalog, catalyze, and coordinate the use of "open" and/or "free" software throughout the DSP development community. OpenDSP software spans code, tools, and applications, but we catalog OpenDSP software separately to highlight its "open" or "free" status, and to make it easier for people who require open-source software to locate it. We also provide cross-links in other areas of the dspGuru site to make OpenDSP software easy to find.
